Detroit Lake, May 2022

After taking two trips to Detroit Lake in under two weeks, both times completely rain soaked and joyful, I can say this is one of the supreme locations to visit within 2 hrs of the city I call home.

4 Rolls from the Holga

RIP this Holga that I’ve had for a few years. It took its last breaths while being thrown in cluttered bags, covered in sand at the beach, and left in hot cars. Its recent photos were blurry, overexposed, and generally unusable….but the more I looked at them I appreciated their screwiness and twisted view of the past. I’ll be buying another Holga this week.

A New Winter Triangle EP

Released two weeks ago. Ghost Pillars And The Way We Fly is my latest EP. Using more soft synths than my previous recordings, this three song album clocks in around 20 mins and is an easy, quick listen. Following in the footsteps of my other ambient releases this record is instrumental, with drums on only the last track which is a collaboration with a good friend from my high school years, Brian Loeffler aka theonetwoeq_view. Brian sent me an unfinished track that I added synth and layers of reverb to, while also reconstructing the layout of the song.

The Tan Side of Lonesome

I was lucky to again photograph a good friend and past bandmate Nathan Snell for his current music project Tan and it’s latest release, The Tan Side of Lonesome. Comprised of synth pop covers of 90’s and 00’s country songs, it’s absolutely catchy and entirely too short at five songs.

Photos were taken with a mobile studio setup in Nathan’s home in Nashville…see last photo for an uncropped view. The amazing cover was designed by Michelle Maguire. Preview the tracks or order vinyl at Stochastic Releases.
